Tours of Scotland

"No one who Tours Scotland can escape the past.
It is everywhere, haunting like a ghost."

Welcome to my Tours of Scotland web site. I hope you find my Tours of Scotland site both informative and enjoyable. My name is Sandy Stevenson, and for the past ten years I have organized and lead more than one hundred Small Group Tours to my native Scotland.
Recent Tours of Scotland Travelogues and Tour Photos.

My small group Tours of Scotland, my homeland, are paced for discovery and understanding, not just notching sites. You will see behind the tourist facade visiting with " locals " and see sites not normally seen by the regular tourist. You will not have to move your base each and every day, for each Hotel will be chosen to minimize the number of times you have to pack and unpack. Scotland, being a small country, it is perfectly possible to visit most everywhere on the mainland from a couple of base locations.

This makes for a much more relaxing experience and also allows you to get to know local people. I do not put 52 people on a huge coach with an endurance test for an itinerary. In fact, each small group travel party will be limited to an absolute maximum of 18 people. The most common small-group size has been between 4 and 8 people.

For a taste of magnificent Highland Perthshire, the town of Dunkeld is an ideal location. Dunkeld is one of my favourite towns in all of Scotland. Not only is the town and local Perthshire area very beautiful, but Dunkeld is ideally situated as a base location, within easy driving distance to numerous other great Scottish sites including; Loch Tay, St Andrews, Edinburgh, Stirling, Pitlochry, Crieff, Aberfeldy, Dundee, and a hundred points of interest in between. The Dunkeld area truly makes for an excellent base from which to tour much of Scotland.

A Sample 10 day Tours of Scotland Itinerary:

* St. Andrews - City, Castle, Cathedral and Old Course.

* Perth - Branklyn Gardens, Balhousie Castle.

* Dunfermline Abbey, Culross.

* Dunkeld, Cathedral, Dunkeld Hermitage.

* Highland Perthshire, Kenmore, Fortingall.

* Pitlochry, Edradour Distillery.

* Loch Leven, Mary Queen Of Scots Castle.

* Elcho Castle, Scone Palace, Abernethy Pictish Tower.

* Stirling Castle, Doune Castle.

* Edinburgh, Castle and Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace.

* Inverness and Area, Loch Ness.

* Isle of Skye, Incredible Scenery.

* North Fife, Balmerino Abbey, Falkland Palace.

* East Neuk of Fife - Crail Pottery, beautiful villages.

Aside from the main itinerary, there will be opportunities to Golf, Fish, Shop, attend Highland Games, and meet many locals along the way. Contact me soon, and let me know what your special interests are. Feel free to ask me any, and all, questions about my Tours of Scotland.
